2. If you are trying to create new profile using the Auto Account Setup Process.



Resolution

It might be possible that this MAPI_E_INVALID_PARAMETER, Microsoft Exchange server 2003 has not been featured with Autodiscover which is in the Exchange server 2007. If this is the problem then you need to look for the dns record. For autodiscover.<mydomain>.com. You need to put it in your DNS server or your local host file and then point it to Exchange server.




Beside this, you can solve the problem with the use of the hotfix package for Outlook 2010. Download the latest hotfix package available on Microsoft site and use it to fix Outlook 2010 0x80070057 error.




One of the simple solutions to fix this error is by manually configuring server setting.




To set it manually you can follow the given procedure—



1. Open Mail control panel.
2. Click on “Show Profiles” option.
3. Click on “Add”, in the Mail dialog box.
4. Enter name for profile in the New Profile dialog box and then click OK.
5. In the Add New E-mail Account dialog box, you will see your display name with email address.
6. Now select Manually configure server settings or additional server types check box and then click .
7. In the dialog box Choose E-mail Service, Choose Microsoft Exchange, click “Next”.
8. Enter the name of Exchange server in the Microsoft Exchange setting dialog box.
9. After creating profile successfully, click Finish.
10. Click OK and then restart Outlook.



But this is annoying task and since mail account is set to the email address not to account name and this is not easy to set up server setting manually every time when we are trying to connect to the server.
